Mayor Junior Cochran
1995 - 2008 |
A Sad Time In Rabbit Hash... Our benevolent mayor, Junior Cochran, passed away on May 17, 2008. Only the second canine elected as mayor of Rabbit Hash, Kentucky, Mayor Junior leaves behind a lasting legacy of goodwill. He served as the official ‘spokes-pet’ of the Women’s Crisis Center, and in 2005 he embarked on a Goodwill Tour that resulted in an Animal Planet documentary entitled: Mayor Dog. Our heartfelt thanks to Mayor Junior and all he did for Rabbit Hash. He will be missed by humans and canines alike.
In
November 2004, Junior Cochran ran a tremendously successful
mayoral campaign, and won a 'dog-gone' good race,
'fetching' well over 3,000 votes. This unique election,
made Mayor Junior only the second canine to ever be
elected mayor of this tiny river hamlet. This section
is dedicated to Mayor Junior, and will chronicle his
work and appearances as a public official in the Commonwealth
of Kentucky. |
